General information:

We moved into our current facility in 1967, having resided in the Cape Flats prior to that time. The facility has served us well and the floor tiles have held up well to the thousands of children we have cared for. The tiles in the kitchen and bathroom areas are in poor condition and in some places we have missing tiles, and tile separation. In addition, the wall cladding is in very poor condition in three of the five medical wards and in need of replacement. Due to the tiles being over 40 years of age, they no longer make tiles that match the tiles we need to replace.

We are celebrating our 75th year of continuous service to chronically ill children. We plan to have several celebrations highlighting that important milestone, and would like to have our facility reflect the readiness of St. Joseph’s Home to mark that date, and to be fully prepared to continue to provide our vital service for another 75 years.

Your support of R185 000 will enable us to replace the tiles in the kitchen, bathroom and walls of our children’s medical wards.
